This project executes UW responsibilities under an agreed order with the Department of Ecology (DOE) to complete a Remedial Investigation/ Feasibility Study (RI/FS) report for the entire UW Tacoma Campus, submit the proposed RI/FS for public comment and negoiate with DOE a new agreed order to implement the remedial actions. This project ends when the UW signs an agreed order to perform the agreed clean-up action projects. A new project is anticipated to fund agreed remedial action clean-up projects.
Revision 1: UW EHS has been engaged in extended negotiations with the DOE since an RI/FS was issued in January 2003. It is necessary to update the 2003 RI/FS report with current groundwater sampling data to assure that the RI/FS recommendations remain valid. The last approved budget was $2,090,000 with total cost to date of $1,949,095. This new budget request for $2,600,000 includes: cost to date, forecasted additional scope to update the RI/FS, costs of public comment and costs to continue negotiations with DOE.
