PROJECT INITIATION

It is easy to get a project started.

Project Tracker, a University-wide system, serves as the starting point. This web based program empowers administrators and their designated staff to create project ideas, request services and acknowledge project completion. The Project Tracker staff provides personal client service as well.

Contact the UW Project Tracker Office at 206 543-5410 or email tracker@u.washington.edu. Public Site information about campus projects is found at http://www.tracker.washington.edu.

CPO Project Intake   UW Tracker routes projects to CPO which require CPO involvement.  CPO Intake processes the project , assigning a Project Manager and entering project information into Prolog – a computer based project tracking system which is then used by consultants, contractors and CPO staff to keep project records.  Once the assignment and information has been entered into the system, CPO Intake sends an email notification to the client.  This occurs within two days.  The assigned Project Manager is responsible for project updates to Tracker and Prolog.  Contact CPO Intake at 206 543-4302 or at gwhiz@u.washington.edu if you have any questions.

Design Services - to utilize Design Services, all you need to do is contact Design Services Manager, Mark Miller at mkmiller@u.washington.edu, 221-3959 or Design Services Secretary Senior, Betsy Anderson at betsya@u.washington.edu, 221-4301.

Please also refer to the UW Policy on Alterations to Campus Buildings and Grounds. This policy defines individual and departmental responsibility relating to facility alterations. To ensure adherence to regulatory requirements for health and safety, the construction, maintenance and renovation of University facilities shall not be performed by non-facilities staff, students or volunteers.  There is a matrix, found at the end of the policy statement, to guide interested persons to appropriate resources.
