CPO University

Welcome to CPO University.

CPO University is an educational program developed by the University of Washington Capital Projects Office (CPO). Classes are designed to educate participants in all aspects of CPO's responsibilities including land use, predesign, design, construction, budgeting, project management, construction management, etc. Instructors are CPO and University experts in various fields as well as outside experts on special topics. All classes are offered free of charge and are open to everyone. Please join us.

CPO University Subject Matrix

Every year classes designed to meet annual training requirements for CPO staff are offered. Some may target a specific group, such as construction or project managers, but all staff are encouraged to attend.

While not mandatory, it is highly recommended that CPO staff attend these classes.

• An annual class presented by EH&S
• An annual class presented by CASPO
• An annual client and/or partners panel discussion
• There will be two annual safety classes one on a pertinent safety issue and the other on hazardous materials.
• Every quarter will have a class on lessons learned/best practices.

2008 CPO University Class Schedule

CPO U classes are scheduled on the first and third Thursdays of each month, from 11 am to 1 pm. This time is blocked out in staff Oracle calendars and then updated each month with class details such as location, instructor and class title. Future classes are listed either as 'confirmed' or tentative. Past classes are documented at the bottom of the list.
