"Living our Vision Everyday"

Once we developed our Mission and Vision
statements, we came up with the idea
of having an article written each month
showing how activities or project elements
relate to our vision statements.

Our project groups will take turns writing this vision article.

 TEAMWORK        INTEGRITY       INNOVATION        COMMITMENT       LEGACY

We strive to find the best way.

Vision for the future…a couple considerations…

Looking to the future, in terms of five to ten years time, can present many things to take into consideration.  One thing to consider that has economical impact is the rising cost of fuel.  The price tag of fuel has the propensity to affect every decision that one faces in a day, from the method of transportation one uses, the route they take, to how they might consolidate multiple trips into one.  The distance one has to travel is likely to impact the location one may choose to do their work.

Technological advances provide more robust servers and enhanced capabilities for those wishing to work from remote locations. As a result the Information Services Group provides a means of telecommuting for meeting the needs of those wishing to utilize the option of working from home.  Providing additional options for staff serves to positively enhance work environments and enables a means for more tangible future planning.

Telecommuting doesn’t work for everyone or every job description.  But as CPO strives to find the best way to utilize all our resources, we cannot ignore the price of fuel, the challenges of space allocation on campus, and impacts to our environment.  There are downsides to telecommuting – a simple (face to face) conversation can be so much more informative and effective than email. Team building and other interactions may also suffer, but  judicious use of the tools technology offers can only enhance our work experience and our end product.

As work continues to flood CPO’s door, it is with much enthusiasm, I announce a new staff member. Mike Grose will be joining the Project Development Managers’ team on July 7th working for John Templin.

Mike's past experience has been as a Project Manager with the US Navy Facilities Management Division in their Planning Group. His strength is developing project scopes with the tenants and design leads, and then watching the plan take fruition within budget.

Mike holds a Masters Degree in Business Administration and a Bachelors of Science in Mechanical Engineering, both from Gonzaga. He will be sitting with John T., Garett and Brad D. in UFA-1, 1st Floor. We’re glad to have him, so please welcome Mike on July 7th!
