The Cobb Building is a fine example of early 20th century brick and ornamental terra-cotta design. Its location on Fourth Avenue in the city's center is ideal. In 2004 the University entered into a new lease with Unico to convert the Cobb building from obsolete medical office space to 92 rental residential units for tenants who desire a central location and a building with unique architectural character. Rainier Square is directly across Fourth Avenue and the University Street METRO bus tunnel is on the southwest corner of the block.
